The outline of this figure, and other similar ones, can be found carved into or drawn onto rocks throughout North America and into Mexico. It is thought to depict the shaman, the healer in the community who was both well grounded and also able to contact the compassionate intelligent spirits to access wisdom which could restore harmony. I have tried to paint these shaman figures in various of their aspects.
